Strawberries are plentiful at our local organic farms and farmers' markets. Stop by and stock up! The opportunities to use strawberries are endless: eat freshly picked, make jam, shortcakes, sundaes, smoothies, salads and in your water.
Strawberries evoke for me memories with my children picking at local organic farms. They always seem to make an event for it with Live music, hay rides and plenty of delicious strawberries on hand!
I picked one day with my eldest son when he was just 3 months old strapped to the front of me, so I could let him taste as I picked. I rermember his sweet littles toes were as red stained as his sweet little mouth. Keith loves strawberries and any fruit for that matter to this day and when it is in the house it doesn't last long! We have made jam together, and served up warm biscuits smothered in raw milk ice cream with those sweet, delicious strawberries mashed up and poured atop to spill over the sides!
